1 Killed, 2 Injured in Monroe County Boating Accident

One person was killed and two were injured in a boating accident on the River Raisin in Monroe County late Saturday.

Chad Edmonds, 28 of Brighton, was driving a boat when it hit a steel pier on the River Raisin around 11 p.m. Saturday.

Firefighters responded to the scene and found two passengers still on board. They were taken to an area hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Edmonds was found a couple hours later and was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

The incident is under investigation.
