10-Year-Old Boy Killed in Bicycle Accident

A 10-year-old boy was killed in a collision while riding his bicycle at Berkshire Elementary school in West Palm Beach, Florida early Tuesday morning.

The child was riding his bike eastbound near Summit Boulevard when he was struck by a woman driving a green SUV northbound on Military Trail, according to authorities.

Witnesses say the woman was traveling through a green light when she hit the boy and dragged him a short distance up the roadway around 7:40 a.m. Tuesday.

The young boy, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was transported to Delray Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the SUV is not facing charges at this time.
