11 Passengers Injured in School Bus Crash

Eleven high school field hockey players were injured Monday when the bus transporting them hit a median and then came to a crashing halt after running into a sign.

Three coaches and the Virginia King’s Fork High School field hockey team made up a total of 20 people that were on their way home when the bus swerved off the rained on road.

Police and medical crews arrived on the scene and took 11 passengers to a local hospital to receive treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

The unidentified bus driver was cited for the failure to maintain a lane of travel. There is an ongoing investigation into the crash.
