A young man suffered serious injuries in a rollover accident early Tuesday morning in Corpus Christi.

A 21-year-old man was driving a 1991 Mitsubishi westbound on South Staples Street when he hit a construction barrel in the 3600 block near Brawner Parkway around 2:50 a.m. Tuesday. The vehicle then crossed the street, hit a curb, and slammed into a fence at a house in the 1000 block of Cunningham Street.

The man, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to Christus Spohn Hospital Memorial where he remains in intensive care.
