4-Year-Old Dead after Contracting E.Coli at Daycare

A 4-year-old boy was pronounced dead Friday, April 9 after contracting E. coli at a Washington daycare.

Four other children were hospitalized, but three have been released.

In Vancouver, the Fletch Family Daycare, has since been shut down and will remain so until the bacteria is controlled.

It is possible that the failure of employees to properly wash their hands after changing diapers or toilet use could have caused it to spread.

There is an ongoing investigation into the cause of the outbreak.
