6-Year-Old Boy Killed in School Bus Accident

A 6-year-old boy was killed in a school bus accident in Itasca County on the Iron Range in Minnesota Monday afternoon.

Dominick Lee Strey, 6, of Calumet, exited the Greenway School District bus around 4 p.m. Monday and walked in front of it when the bus moved forward and knocked him down. Strey, a student at Vandyke Elementary School, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The female 57-year-old bus driver is an employee of the Greenway School District.

The accident is under investigation with help from the Minnesota State Patrol that will reconstruct the accident. No charges have been made at this time.
