8-Year-Old Boy Injured in Car Accident

An 8-year-old boy suffered injuries in a car accident as he was being driven to baseball in Layton Tuesday evening.

A 32-year-old female neighbor was driving the child to baseball and turned left at the intersection of Highway 193 and Hillfield Road when they were struck by a pickup truck that was driving through a yellow light around 7 p.m. Tuesday, according to Layton Police Lt. Quinn Moyes.

The child was airlifted from the accident scene to Ogden Regional Medical Center and then transported to Primary Children’s Medical Center once the stormy weather calmed down. The child was listed in stable condition and suffered from a broken arm, leg and lacerations to the head.

The accident is under investigation, Moyes said.
