Victim’s Family Awarded $14.9 Million in Murder Case Distracted Driving can Kill, Pregnant Woman dies in Accident
Arson Victim Awarded $1/2 Million
A 21-year-old woman was awarded a half-million dollars after almost being killed in an arson fire in 2004. A jury came to that verdict after listening to the attorney for Stevie Wood’s children who are responsible for paying the victim Karrie Hayes. Woods allegedly transmitted his property and money over to his kids. In 2006 a jury found Woods guilty of first degree arson after it was discovered that he hired a man to burn down Haye’s home. He was sentenced to shell out $5 million as well as serve 25 years in jail.
