At Least One Killed in Amtrak Train Accident
At least one person was killed in a collision involving a Chicago bound Amtrak train in southwest Romeoville.
Amtrak train 22, the Texas Eagle, was en route to Chicago when it collided with a vehicle that was obstructing the tracks near 135th Street and New Avenue in southwest Romeoville around 1:10 p.m.
None of the 250 passengers or 12 crew members on the train suffered any injuries. According to reports, at least one person in the vehicle was killed and others suffered injuries.
The accident is under investigation.
