Boy Injured When Snowmobile Plunges 50-Feet
A teenage boy was injured when he flew off the edge of a gravel pit on a snowmobile he was riding Saturday in Eden Valley, Minnesota.
The 16-year-old boy, whose name has not been released, was riding up a hill in an unfamiliar area when the hill abruptly ended. The boy flew into the gravel pit and fell 40 to 50 feet before he landed in the frozen sand below, according to a news release from the Stearns County Sheriff’s Department.
The accident was reported at 4:32 p.m. Saturday on private property in Eden Valley Township. The boy was transported to St. Cloud Hospital where he was treated for injuries suffered in the accident.
The accident is under investigation.
