Carthage Woman Injured in Rollover Accident

A woman suffered fatal injuries in a one-vehicle accident Thursday morning east of Carthage.

Wilma “Wendy” L. Christensen, 80, of Carthage, was driving a 2001 Lincoln westbound on Mo. Hwy. 96 when she lost control of the vehicle and drove off the left side of the roadway, hit an embankment and rolled over around 9:18 a.m.

Christensen, who was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident, was pronounced dead at the scene by Jasper County Deputy Coroner Jerry Neil.
