<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12pt;">The 48-year-old Garden City man, an employee of Schreiber Roofing, was working at the site of the new C.S. Mott Children&#8217;s Hospital when a heavy load of roofing material fell on him, according to police spokeswoman Diane Brown.</p>
<p>The man, whose name has not been released until family has been notified of the death, was transported to the University of Michigan Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.</p>
<p>The accident is under investigation.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Brady Murphy, 22, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was shocked and suffered serious burns while he was working for Highline Construction of Paynesville, Minnesota near Onawa.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Three workers were killed in a construction accident in Austin, Texas when some scaffolding on the 11<sup>th</sup> floor collapsed with them Wednesday afternoon.</p>
<p>According to Battalion Chief Harry Evans, four workers were on the scaffolding when it collapsed and they fell from the 11<sup>th</sup> floor of a high-rise condominium. Two of the men fell 120 feet to their deaths. The third man struck a garage overhang on the sixth floor and was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time after. The forth man was able to jump off the platform and was treated at the scene.</p>
<p>It is being investigated what caused the scaffold to collapse.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A demolition worker suffered serious injuries when an Irving commercial building he was working at fell on him Tuesday afternoon. A police officer also suffered injuries as he worked to rescue the victim.</p>
<p>The worker, whose identity has not been released, was inside the building collecting copper wiring when a bulldozer accident ran into the building at 215 E. Airport Freeway around 2 p.m. Tuesday. The impact caused the building to collapse on the worker, who suffered two broken legs in the accident when he was pinned under debris.</p>
<p>An Irving patrol officer, whose identity has not been released, suffered a broken leg as he attempted to reach the trapped worker.</p>
<p>The worker was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas and the officer was transported to Baylor Medical Center at Irving.</p>

<p>The man is not reported to be in stable condition and will be transported by helicopter to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment.</p>

<p>Julio Salabarria, 66, was working at a construction site in the 7200 block of North Kendall Drive when he was crushed by the end of a concrete pump that was connected to a crane used to pour concrete at about 9 a.m.</p>
<p>Salabarria was working at the site where condominiums and businesses are being built across the street from the Dadeland Mall.</p>
<p>Miami-Dade detectives and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the fatal accident.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Two men were hurt when a ladder fell on a power line where they were working, electrocuting one and injuring another at a house in Boulder, Colorado Tuesday morning.</p>
<p>The two men were painting the exterior of a house in the 1100 block of University Avenue in Boulder when the accident occurred around 9:45 a.m., said Boulder police.</p>
<p>A 22-year-old man was holding an aluminum extension ladder and received a jolt of electric current when the ladder fell onto the 650-volt power line. A 25-year-old man was struck by the falling ladder.</p>
<p>Both men were transported to Boulder Community Hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.</p>
<p>The accident is under investigation.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A man was killed Monday in a construction accident when an elevator fell on him at the former Holiday Inn on Lane Avenue in Columbus, Ohio.</p>
<p>Elevator technician James C. Higgins, 51, and another worker were at the bottom of an elevator shaft attempting to prepare the elevator so that workers could remove furniture from the hotel when the accident occurred around 8 a.m. Monday, according to Columbus Division of Fire Battalion Chief Dave Whiting.</p>
<p>The elevator they were working on fell down the shaft, killing Higgins. It is not known if the incident was due to mechanical or human error, said Whiting.</p>
<p>Higgins was an employee of Oracle Elevator for three years and was working on converting the former Holiday Inn into a dormitory.</p>
<p>The accident is being investigated by the Columbus Division of Police.</p>
