College Student Killed While Crossing Street
An Angelina College student suffered fatal injuries when he was struck attempting to cross Highway 59 south near the college in Texas Monday night.
Christopher Salazar, 21, of Sugarland, was driving his vehicle southbound on Highway 59 south as Brandon Hart, 19, of Woodville, was attempting to cross the highway. Hart ran in front of traffic and was struck by Salazar, who had attempted to swerve to avoid the collision but was unsuccessful.
Hart, in his Freshman year of college, was taken to Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The accident occurred around 8:57 Monday in the 3500 block of Highway 59 south.
