Colville Woman Killed, Man Injured in One-Vehicle Crash

A Colville woman was killed and a man suffered injuries in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday near Colville.

John Edward Chaney, 65, was driving a 1994 Honda Civic eastbound on state Highway 20, 15 miles east of Colville, when he lost control of the vehicle and drove off the roadway around 6 p.m. The vehicle struck a tree and rolled over, landing on its side.

A passenger in the Civic, Linda Ann Lobdell, 68, was not wearing a seatbelt in the collision and was killed in the accident.

Chaney was taken to Mount Carmel Hospital in Colville where he was treated and released.
