Construction Worker Killed In Boiler Accident
A worker was killed in a construction accident at the at the Iatan II construction site in northern Platte County early Tuesday morning.
The victim, an employee of a subcontractor, died following a boiler accident at the construction site. According to the utility’s spokesperson, Katie McDonald, the accident occurred at about 5:45 a.m. Monday inside the plant’s boiler.
What caused the accident has not yet been determined. No other workers were injured in the accident. The construction site was closed for the rest of the day and workers were let off after the accident.
The Platte County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident as an unattended death.
