Crane Worker Killed in Industrial Accident

A worker at Appleton’s West Carrollton plant was killed in an industrial accident Thursday morning when he was trapped beneath a heavy piece of equipment.

The 39-year-old man, employed by Crane Pro Services, was working at the mill at 1030 W. Alex Bell Road on a 5 ton piece of equipment when it lowered onto him, pinning his hip and one of his legs.

The man was freed within five minutes by emergency responders and transported to Miami Valley Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
