Eleven accidents occurred within two hours early Sunday morning due to slick roads from the previous night’s snowfall around the Kansas City area.

The multiple accidents happened between the hours of 12:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. in Kansas City, Missouri. One of the accidents involved an Overland Park police officer that was responding to an earlier accident at Interstate 435 and Antioch Road. The officer suffered minor injuries in the accident.

The snowfall on Saturday night resulted in the slick roads which caused the eleven accidents Sunday. According to a Missouri Department of Transportation snow removal worker, melting snow was refreezing on the pavement and recommended that drivers stay off the roads if possible.
