Deputy Injured While Responding to Accident

A Sheriff’s Deputy of King County, Washington, was injured in an accident that occurred while he was responding to another traffic accident Tuesday morning.

The unidentified female deputy involved in the accident, was responding to a multiple-vehicle accident on Interstate 405 at SE 8th Street at about 6 a.m. According to Washington State Patrol Trooper Cliff Pratt, the deputy drove into the scene too fast and hit the freeway barrier. The deputy suffered multiple injuries, including lacerations to her head and she may have knocked out a few teeth in the impact.

The Washington State Patrol said there were icy conditions on the roadway at the time which may have been a factor in the accident. De-icer was called for to be used around the area of the accident.
