Driver Injured in Tractor Trailer Accident

Minor injuries were suffered in a tractor-trailer on Route 17 in Johnson City Tuesday afternoon.

A tractor-trailer from National Pipe & Plastic Inc. of Vestal was traveling from Route 201 onto the ramp leading to Route 17 eastbound when the vehicle overturned, said police. The driver, whose identity has not been released, was transported to Wilson Regional Medical Center in Johnson City to be examined for injuries.

The accident occurred at about 12:30 p.m. Traffic was diverted from accident scene on Route 17 at Exit 70 in Johnson City, according to the state Department of Transportation.
All lanes were reopened by 2:45 p.m. Tuesday.

According to police, while no charges have been issued yet, charges may be issued against the driver. The accident is being investigated.
