Driver Stabbed after Running over & Killing 2-year-old Boy now Recovering

The driver who was attacked after hitting and killing a two-year-old boy is now expected to recover.  

According to investigators, on Monday night the young boy Javonni Conley ran out into the street after a ball and the driver was unable to dodge him. Javonni was rushed to a hospital where he was unable to survive his injuries.

The boy’s mother’s boyfriend, 34-year-old Dierre Coteat, immediately ran to the vehicle and began stabbing the driver. Coteat is now facing attempted murder charges.

The mother of the young boy, Marlene Rodriguez, stood  and grieved with family and friends at the location of the accident.

Police are still investigating the fatal accident.
