East Norwalk Man Killed in Hit-And-Run Accident

A man was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Route 8 in Trumbull, Connecticut Tuesday night.

John Burr, 50, of East Norwalk, was walking along Route 8 north of exit 7 in order to retrieve several items that had fallen from his pick-up truck while he was driving when he was struck by a vehicle driving southbound, according to a police press release. The accident occurred at about 9:40 p.m.

It is suspected that the vehicle that hit Burr continued to drive southbound. It is believed to be red and have damage to its front right side and be missing its right side mirror, said police.

The accident is under investigation and police are asking for help from anyone with information.
