Three Injured When Cargo Container Falls From 18-Wheeler Infants in Rollover Accident Escape Uninjured
Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash Ruled Accident
A Manhattan woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident Wednesday night.
The 50-something woman, whose identity has not been released, was struck by a private sanitation truck at about 10 p.m. Wednesday while she was traveling on 40th Street and Ninth Avenue. The woman was transported to Saint Vincent’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the private sanitation truck, who had fled the scene, was found later by police and claimed he was not aware that he had struck the woman.
Police have ruled the hit-and-run collision an accident, and no charges have been filed.
