Five people, including the American bus driver, were killed in a car accident involving a bus carrying French tourists on Highway 101 in California.

The bus was traveling along U.S. 101 in Soledad when the vehicle overturned on a highway overpass and fell 60 to 70 feet to the street below. At least three people, including the American driver, were ejected from the bus, according to California Highway Patrol spokesman Brian Wiest.

Three victims were pronounced dead at the accident scene and two were confirmed dead at hospitals. Their identities have not been released.

The bus was carrying 36 people, 34 of which were French tourists, a Canadian tour guide, and the American bus driver, who was involved in a fatal accident in 2005.
