Florida Woman Killed in Hunting Accident

A woman was killed over the weekend in a hunting accident in Liberty County, Florida.

Pansey Langston, 57, was hunting with her husband in Liberty County near Hosford at the Blue Creek Hunting Club. As Langston was just getting out of her car, another member of the hunting club saw a deer and fired twice. The couple was blocked from view because of the thick foliage and one of his shots hit Langston in her upper chest.

Investigators say the first deputy who responded to the scene performed CPR. Langston was airlifted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

FWC Officials say the 26-year-old shooter knew Langston personally and is devastated about the accident.

Officers don’t anticipate any charges to be filed, but they will be meeting with the state attorney’s office to review the incident.
