Governor Rick Perry Injured in Bike Accident

Governor Rick Perry broke his collarbone in a mountain bike accident near his home Tuesday night.

Perry, who was wearing his helmet at the time of the accident, was riding his bicycle when the incident occurred.

Perry was transported to Seton Medical Center with a broken right collarbone and was treated. Perry also suffered an injury to his right elbow.

Perry had a trip planned to Galveston, Corpus Christi and South Padre Island to sign bills that had been passed by the Legislature.
