Head-On Collision Kills One, Injures Five

One person was killed and five were injured in a head-on collision in Wilton Friday.

A collision occurred between an SUV and a pickup truck on Route 2, east of the junction with Route 156.

A passenger in the SUV, Avis Pettengill, 73, was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

The driver of the SUV, Shawn Hiscock, was airlifted by lifeflight to Maine Medical Center and is listed in serious condition. Hiscock’s wife, Heather, and their 2-year-old son, Isaac, were transported by a different helicopter to Lewiston. Their conditions have not been released.

The driver of the pickup truck, Richard Greco, and passenger Jordan Hiscock, 8, both of Dixfield, were transported to Franklin Memorial Hospital where they were treated.
