Man Arrested After Fatal Bicycle Accident

A man has been arrested for his involvement in a bicycle accident that resulted in the death of a female rider in New Mexico.

Heather Reu, 42, was riding her bicycle on Paseo del Volcan when she was rear-ended by a car driven by Daniel Gomez, 40, near Double Eagle Airport. Reu was killed in the accident.

Gomez initially fled the scene of the accident but returned when he was found by witnesses. Gomez was booked at the Metropolitan Detention Center on charges of leaving the scene of an accident and for having narcotics on him.

The accident is under investigation.
