Man Charged in Fatal Hit-And-Run Accident
A man was charged Thursday afternoon for his involvement in a fatal hit-and-run accident in downtown Charleston, South Carolina Sunday night.
Leonard Bernard Gregory, 24, was stopped by a Charleston police officer but he sped away and crashed into a vehicle driven by Johnny Vice, 63. Gregory ran out of his car and was picked up by another vehicle that drove away.
Johnny Vice and his wife Betty were killed in the accident.
With the help of witnesses, officers arrested Gregory just before noon Thursday in North Charleston.
Gregory was charged with two counts of leaving the scene of a fatal accident, two counts of reckless homicide, and for driving under suspension.
