Man Injured in Tractor Trailer Accident in Albemarle County

A man suffered injuries in a tractor trailer accident on Route 29 south in Albemarle County Wednesday morning.

The tractor trailer was traveling off of the Interstate 64 west ramp onto Route 29 when the truck, hauling wood chips, overturned at about 9:00 a.m. Wednesday.

The driver was trapped inside the vehicle before he was extracted by emergency responders. The driver suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Southbound traffic was rerouted to Interstate 64 west to the Ivy exit, then back onto Interstate 64 east to exit 118 onto Route 29.

As of Wednesday afternoon all roads were reopened.
