Man Killed in Amtrak Train Accident

A man was killed in an Amtrak train accident on the railroad tracks near West State Street.

Richard Farkas, 29, of Hawley Avenue, was crossing the railroad tracks with two other men as they walked back from a convenience store. As the Amtrak train approached, two men continued to walk while Farkas stayed on the train tracks.

Farkas was pronounced dead at the scene, near the railroad tracks on West State Street where he was found shortly after the train passed by.

The accident is under investigation.
