Man Killed in Car-Tree Collision
A man was killed in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday when his vehicle smashed into a tree, according to Baltimore County police.
Matthew Lee Kaplan, 20, of Harmony Woods Road near Owings Mills was driving a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer eastbound on Caves Road when he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle crossed the westbound lane and ran into a tree at about 12:00 p.m. Wednesday. Kaplan was pronounced dead at the accident scene, said police.
According to investigators, foul weather conditions such as rain is believed to have played a role in the accident.
The accident is under investigation.
