Man Killed in One-Vehicle Roll-Over Accident

A man was killed in a one-vehicle accident Sunday night. The victim was identified Monday by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as Ricky Gilmore, 55, of Elk Grove.

Around 10:25 p.m. Sunday, the Elk Grove Police Department responded to a call of an accident on Whitelock Parkway just west of Big Horn Boulevard.

Gilmore had been driving eastbound on Whitelock when the black 1997 Mercedes he was driving swerved over the center median into westbound lanes of traffic for unknown reasons. Gilmore lost control of the Mercedes and struck several objects and overturned, coming to a stop upside down, according to police.

Gilmore was pronounced dead at the accident scene, police said.
