Man Killed in Snowmobile Collision
A man was killed and another seriously injured in a snowmobile accident Saturday in Michigan.
Paul Murphy, 44, of Lake Quivira, Michigan, and Nicholas Waranka, 42, of Port Washington, Wisconsin, were snowmobiling with six other men in Alger County, next to Lake Superior, when their snowmobiles collided with a snow embankment causing the drivers to loose control and their vehicles collided.
Waranka was killed in the collision. Murphy was in the intensive care unit at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette, Mich. None of the other riders was injured in the accident.
There have been nine fatal snowmobile accidents in Michigan this winter, according to the state’s Department of Natural Resources.

Nicholas died from a heart attack after the accident.
