Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident on Route 104

A man was killed in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday night in Franklin Township in Snyder County, according to the state police at Selinsgrove.

Steven A. Walter, 44, of Middleburg, was traveling southbound on Middleburg-New Berlin highway, north of Route 104, when he was struck by a pickup truck, driven by Myron Myers, 33, of New Columbia. The truck was traveling out of control on the wet roadway and drove across the center line, hitting Walter’s vehicle at 10:50 p.m.

Walter was pronounced dead at the scene.

Myers was transported to the Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg, where he was treated and released.

Police, Reliance Hose and Ambulance Company, and Snyder County coroner’s office all responded to the scene.
