Man Pinned Under Vehicle Suffers Critical Injuries

A man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was trapped under a piece of construction equipment at Tyson F. Sartin, Inc. in Bear, Delaware Tuesday morning.

The 56-year-old business owner was positioned beneath the 1983 Chevrolet company truck to work on it when his clothing became tangled in the vehicle and pulled him into the frame of the truck. The man, whose name has not been released, was pinned underneath the vehicle and suffered critical injuries.

An employee of the business called for help and the victim was freed from the truck by paramedics and transported to Christiana Hospital where he was last listed in critical condition.

The accident occurred at Tyson F. Sartin Inc., a company that makes granite grave markers, in the 4300 bock of Kirkwood St. Georges Road at about 10:15 a.m. Tuesday.
