Missouri Basketball Team in Three-Vehicle Accident

A Missouri basketball team traveling on a charter bus was involved in an accident Saturday in Kansas. No team members were injured but the driver of another vehicle involved was hospitalized.

After practicing in Lawrence, the team was traveling on Kansas 10 in order to return to a hotel in Overland Park when the accident happened. According to the patrol, the driver of a vehicle lost control, hitting another vehicle that then collided into the charter bus carrying 31 people.

The Missouri team was delayed about an hour. The bus passengers, none of whom were injured, gave the driver a standing ovation for his actions during the accident, said Dave Reiter, a spokesman for Missouri’s men’s team.

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to the hospital.
