Motorcyclist Injured in Hit-And-Run Accident

A motorcyclist is listed in critical condition after a hit-and-run accident Monday afternoon in Winter Haven, Florida.

The driver of the motorcycle, James Key II, 35, of Winter Haven, was driving his 1999 red Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on Avenue G Northwest when he attempted to turn left onto Recker highway and was struck by another vehicle as it turned onto Avenue G Northwest around 12:15 p.m., said officials.

The collisions impact made the motorcycle skid off the road where it eventually came to a rest on the northeast side of the roadway.

Key was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital where he is listed in critical condition, stated deputies.

The vehicle then fled the scene. The accident, and the driver of the vehicle that fled the scene, is under investigation.
