One Injured in Highway 17 Two-Vehicle Accident

One person suffered injuries in an accident involving an overturned strawberry truck on Highway 17.

According to dispatchers, the accident took place in the northbound lanes of Highway 17 at Laurel Road around 9 a.m. and involved the strawberry truck and another vehicle.

While authorities clean up the scene both directions of the highway are expected to be closed for at least one hour. Fuel and strawberries have spilled across the roadway.

Reportedly one person has been airlifted from the scene and another has been taken by ambulance to local hospitals for treatment of injuries.
