One Killed in Car-Tree Collision

One person was killed in a one-vehicle accident early Tuesday morning in Kannapolis, North Carolina.

The victim was driving a 1995 Ford Ranger pickup northbound on Trinity Church Road when they lost control of the vehicle and drove off the right side of the roadway and slammed into a tree in the 2200 block around 1:51 a.m.

The identity of the victim has not been released pending family notification.

The accident is being investigated by the Kannapolis Police. It is not known if drugs or alcohol contributed to the incident.
