Pedestrian Hit By Alleged Drunken Driver Seriously Injured
A woman was seriously injured by an alleged drunken driver Saturday in Pacific Beach, California, according to police.
The victim, around the age of 20, was crossing at the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Reed Avenue at about 7:20 p.m. on Saturday, when she was hit by a vehicle turning left. The vehicle was driven by Alan Mabrey, 45, said San Diego police Sgt. Bob Dare.
The woman suffered from life-threatening head injuries in the accident, Dare said.
Mabrey, who initially left the scene on foot, was arrested when he returned to his vehicle, according to Dare. Police belief that Mabrey will most likely be charged with felony driving under the influence.
