Pedestrian Injured in Hit-And-Run Accident

A man was injured in a hit-and-run accident when he was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the street in Mechanicsburg Borough Sunday afternoon.

The adult male reported the accident at around 4 p.m. Sunday. He was attempting to cross the first block of East Simpson Street when he bent down to pick up his sunglasses that he had dropped, when he was struck by a vehicle in the left thigh and hip. The man was knocked to the ground and suffered minor injuries, but did not seek medical attention.

The vehicle sped away eastbound, fleeing the scene of the accident. Police describe the hit-and-run vehicle as gold in color and driven by a male.
