Pedestrian Killed in Hit-And-Run Accident
A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident Wednesday night in Henderson. The alleged hit-and-run driver was later apprehended and charged with failure to stop and render aid, a third-degree felony.
Dennis Fountain, 43, of Henderson, was walking across the street to his mother’s home in the 2000 block of East Main Street when he was hit just before 8 p.m. by a 2000 Jeep Cherokee driven by Brandon Graham, 22, of Henderson, according to Henderson police.
Graham fled the scene but was later found was by police on U.S. Highway 79 East.
Fountain’s stepfather performed CPR on him until EMS arrived and transported him to Henderson Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The accident is under investigation.
