Pedestrian Killed in Hit-And-Run Accident

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The unidentified male pedestrian had been walking on Falls of Neuse Rd. near the intersection with Spring Forest Road when he was hit by a passing vehicle just before 7 a.m. According to the police, the vehicle that hit the pedestrian stopped a short distance north of the accident before continuing down the road away from the scene.

Officials believe that the vehicle was possibly a blue Chevrolet Blazer or a similar vehicle and are currently searching for the vehicle.

Officials say a second car struck the pedestrian, after the victim was initially hit by the SUV.  The second driver did stop and speak with police.

The accident is under investigation.
