Pleasanton Man Killed in One-Vehicle Accident

A man was killed in a one-vehicle accident Monday morning near Sunol, California.
The victim, Dennis Cochran, 76, of Pleasanton, was identified by the Alameda County Coroner’s Office.

Cochran was traveling northbound on Interstate 680 in a 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck when he possibly hit the center median which caused him to cross the lanes of traffic and drive off the Andrade Road off-ramp, running into a tree, according to Officer Steve Creel.

The accident occurred at about 9:25 a.m.

Officers are investigating what may have caused the accident, including a possible medical condition which may have been a factor in the crash. It does not seem that weather was a factor, Creel said.
