Police Search For Hit-And-Run Driver, Injured Two
Two people were injured in two separate hit-and-run accidents Sunday evening in Enfield, Connecticut. Police are searching for the driver involved.
Police responded to the first of two accidents which involved a vehicle and a pedestrian around 7:42 p.m. The vehicle, described as a older green Mazda minivan, hit a pedestrian at the intersection of Route 5 and High Street, and then fled north on Route 5 without stopping, according to police.
Just minutes later the same vehicle was involved in a second accident on Route 5 at Brainard Road, police said. The Mazda rear-ended a stopped pickup truck, injuring the driver of the pickup and causing extreme damage to both of the vehicle before again fleeding the scene east on Brainard Road, according to police.
Bystanders that witnessed the second collision described the Mazda’s driver as a bald white man and said he seemed to have struck his head on his own vehicle’s windshield, police said.
