Rio Grande City Man Killed in Train Accident

A Rio Grande City man suffered fatal injuries in a North Dakota train accident Sunday afternoon.

Jesus Garcia, of Rio Grande City, was traveling to a rural pipeline base site in his service truck when the vehicle was struck by a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train just outside of Berthold, North Dakota Sunday afternoon.

Allegedly, Garcia was crossing the tracks despite activated signals warning that a train was approaching.
