San Diego Woman Killed in Snowmobile Accident

A woman was killed in a snowmobile accident when she collided with a tree near Woodfords in the eastern Sierra Wednesday afternoon.

Patricia Warren, of San Diego, was riding a snowmobile in the Blue Lakes snow park in Alpine County when she lost control of the Arctic Cat snowmobile and ran into a tree.

Warren was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

A passenger riding on the back of Warren’s snowmobile was airlifted to a hospital in Reno, Nevada with minor injuries, and was treated and released.

The accident occurred Wednesday afternoon about 12 miles off the Blue Lakes access road near Woodfords, California, said Alpine County sheriff’s Sgt. Ron Michitarian.
