Santa Barbara Man Killed in Car Accident
A Santa Barbara resident was killed in a one-vehicle accident Monday night on Modoc Road in California.
William Anthony Calhoun, 26, of Santa Barbara, was traveling in his 2001 BMW 540 westbound on Modoc Road when his vehicle drove off the roadway and ran into a palm tree near Lyric Lane at about 11:30 p.m. Monday, according to California Highway Patrol.
Calhoun’s car was split into two and it was determined that Calhoun was killed on impact. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is unknown what caused the accident but it is not believed that alcohol contributed to the incident, which is under investigation.
