School Bus Involved in Highway 101 Accident

An accident on Highway 101 involving a school bus, a logging truck, and at least two other vehicles resulted in several minor injuries near Forks, Washington Monday morning, according to the State Patrol.

The accident occurred shortly before 7 a.m. Monday about 10 miles south of Forks. There were no students traveling on the bus, just the driver who suffered minor injuries, said Trooper Krista Hedstrom in Bremerton.

Hedstrom reported ice on the roadway played a factor in the accident. Patrol is investigating the accident, which will include the inspection of the bus and truck for mechanical problems.

Traffic was backed up for several hours due to no detour available.
