Several People Injured in Three-Vehicle Accident
Several people were taken to local hospitals for treatment after an accident involving multiple vehicles, including a tractor trailer, on eastbound Interstate 66 in Virginia. Rush hour traffic was blocked for over an hour between Centreville and Manassas, officials said.
According to a spokeswoman for the Virginia State Police, the collision involved three vehicles and occurred between mile markers 48 and 49, right before the exit for Route 28. Due to injuries suffered in the accident, several people were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
The accident happened at 6:42 a.m. and blocked lanes for the next hour, forcing cars to squeeze through on the left shoulder. All of the traffic lanes were reopened by 8:32 a.m., Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller said.
